Converse has teamed up with the renowned French artist, hotelier and nightlife impresario André Saraiva to create this brand new André for Converse Chuck Taylor All Star collection for Fall 12, featuring a “Love” sneaker, referencing the Saraiva founded Hôtel Amour in Paris, and a “Purple” sneaker as a nod his friend Olivier Zahm, Editor-in-Chief of Purple Magazine.

Saraiva began to gain notoriety in the late 1990’s with a fresh and simple yet highly distinctive graffiti style featuring minimal pink drawings. His signature character is a cartoon named “Monsieur A” which has captured imaginations and resonated widely in the worlds of art and fashion. Through his artist endeavors, André met Purple Magazine Editor-in-Chief Olivier Zahm, who became a friend and frequent co-collaborator of Saraiva. Additionally, Saraiva founded the infamous ‘Le Baron’ nightclubs worldwide, which are renowned for providing an amazing blend of fashion, art and nightlife.

“The collaboration was about family. I thought it would be fun to work with people I like such as Olivier Zahm,” says Saraiva. “I selected the Chuck Taylor All Star because it’s what I used to wear when I was 13 and the inspiration is classic with a twist of night.”
The sneakers will be available in September 14, 2012 at Converse First String retailers globally.
