CONVERSE CELEBRATES THE NEWLY RE-MASTERED CONS WEAPON SNEAKER WITH EXCLUSIVE ARTISTIC COLLABS
To celebrate the launch of the re-mastered Converse Cons Weapon, Converse partnered up with Patta, Woei and Avenue to create exclusive art objects in collaboration with three local artists – Floor van het Nederend, Iwan Smit & Enpleinpublic. Each of the objects were made available for free in exclusive numbers during the launch events in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Antwerp respectively. Scroll down for a quick recap of the events.
Floor van het Nederend. His dip pen is his weapon.
In Amsterdam, Converse and Patta collaborated with illustrator Floor van het Nederend who created his first time ever comic book called ‘The Adventures of Henry. Searchin’ For His Own’. The entire comic book was first drafted with a dip pen; the tool he creates all of his art with, as he believes it gives his illustrations a unique type of rawness.
Iwan Smit. His eyes are his weapon.
Converse and Woei worked together with Iwan Smit in Rotterdam to create a unique pair of sunglasses inspired by the art of stained glass. Iwan is an all-round artist who has a strong vision of the world that he likes to put into his art. His art is often formed by his state of mind and emotions so that when you look at it – or through it – you are able to see the world through his eyes.
Enpleinpublic. You are his weapon.
For Antwerp, Converse and Avenue worked with Enpleinpublic who, as the name suggests, favors to utilize public spaces as his canvas. For the collaboration he created a one of a kind pencil box where the pencils are covered by his art. When you use them you show a different creation every time the pencils get mixed up, which is the same principle as when objects that cover Enpleinpublic’s art get moved in public spaces.
